Nerd Alert

Read on only if particle physics and white-girl rapping seem like a good combination to you.

As you probably already know, the Large Hadron Collider has been up and running for a couple of months now and it's doing really awesome particle collisions. Lots people got all huffy about creating mini-black holes that would somehow destroy the earth. That part is not true. The only black hole on Earth is the one that swallowed our stuff. I have found that there is a lot of confusion and ignorance surrounding what makes up the most basic units of matter (which I suppose is only fair since physicists can't really agree on that either), but I was pleased to discover an amazing rap that was as educational as it was entertaining. But maybe only to big nerds like me.
If you'd like to learn more about particle physics and the LHC, enjoy this video, the Large Hadron Rap (I saw it on the Universe Today blog).

So, I clicked on the video so I could be amused, however I found as I listened (to the whole rap-in its entirety) that perhaps I learned more about science by the end of the song than in all my high school science combined. If only my science teacher rapped. Go, Krissie, way to keep your blog readers educated!

"Dang that hurt..." Good thing i'm at work at 3:28 am and have nothing else better to do. Actually, i found the video pretty entertaining and informative. NEAT!!

I really learned a lot just now, way more than in 'Deception Point'. I think that Raleigh is going to love that clip and share it with all of his physicist friends. I am sure that he wishes his employer were less technophobic so he could share it with his kiddies too (he is actually doing a physics unit right now).

That was, like, 20 kinds of awesome!!

Secretly, even though I complain about all those physics classes I've had to take at ucla, in retrospect I actually think physics is freaking cool. I totally watch those nerdy documentaries in the morning on PBS. And last week I pulled out my physics text to read a little on light again.

(Don't tell anyone, k?)

Thanks for the video...I'm definitely going to have to steal from you on this one. :-)
